Swim Lessons

Pike: (3-5 Beginners) Will introduce your child to safe pool behavior, adjusting to the water, and developing independent movement in the water. Pike is designed for non- swimmers and introduces the basics such as the paddle stoke and kicking skills.

Eel: (3-5 Intermediate) Reinforces your child’s Pike skills and helps to further develop their swimming ability. Eel classes are for children who are comfortable in the water and can swim a short distance using the paddle stroke.

Starfish: (3-5 Advanced) Refines your child’s swimming skills to develop their stroke technique. Starfish are swimmers who need stroke and breathing development.

Polliwog: (6-14 Beginners) Will introduce your child to adjusting to the water, floating, and developing independent movement in the water. Polliwog is designed for non- swimmers and weak swimmers who need to work on basics such as the paddle stoke and kicking skills.

Guppy/Minnow: (6-14 Intermediate/Advanced) Refines your child’s stroke technique while building endurance. Guppy/Minnow is a great level to prepare your child for Swim Team!

CANCELLATION POLICY
It is the policy of the YMCA that if cancellation occurs by the participant, it must be 24 hours before the session starts and the participant will receive credit on their account. Once a session starts, program fees are non-refundable except in cases of documented medical conditions. If the YMCA cancels a class due to inclement weather, a system credit will be issued per class to the participant’s account.
